The NYT salutes Chicago artist Nick Cave in its biannual special report on museums.

Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) is staging a retrospective for multidisciplinary artist Nick Cave from May 14-October 2, 2022.

Titled “Forothermore”, the exhibition is Cave’s response to pressing social issues. His popular Soundsuits series features alongside his colorful videos and installations.

After its run at MCA, the exhibition moves to the Guggenheim in New York City.

Additionally, Cave’s work appears at other venues in Chicago this summer.

There is a fundraising gala at the DuSable Museum of African American History on May 21. It will feature musical performances and a choreographed fashion show.

And Cave’s new video is part of this summer’s Art on theMart digital programming.
